SCREEN-PRINTING
Art should be submitted as vector art whenever possible. Vector art is art created using software such as Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw and can be scaled indefinatley without losing any quality. Raster art can also be submitted but may be subject to additional art fees depending on the quality and type of image you submit. Raster art is art that uses a set number of pixels (such as photographs, scanned images, or images from the web) and can only be scaled a small amount without losing quality.
1. Size - Maximum Print area is 14" wide x 16" tall:
It is a good idea to send us your file at the size you want it printed but it is not required.
2. Convert text to curves:
For vector files, please convert all text to curves before sending the file. For Photoshop files, please rasterize/render all type layers before sending the file. This way, if we do not have the same fonts you used, we can still print your artwork!

To convert text to curves using CorelDraw®:
Select all your text and convert it to curves by selecting "Arrange/Convert to Curves". The keyboard shortcut is "Ctrl+Q". You may need to ungroup your design to perform this function, depending on which version of the program you are using.
To convert text to curves using Adobe Illustrator®:
Select all your text and convert it to curves by selecting "Type/Create Outlines". The keyboard shortcut is "Ctrl+Shift+O".
You may need to ungroup your design to perform this function.
To convert text using AdobePhotoshop®:
Select each of your text layers. (You will have to convert each layer individually) Select "Layers/Rasterize/Type" Just make sure that your document is 100% size at 300+ dpi to ensure high quality screenprinting. |
3. Ink Colors.
Stock Colors: We have a wide selection of stock colors and we recommend choosing from these whenever possible.
Custom Colors: We can mix almost any Pantone® Matching System color you may need for you logo or design. Additional fees apply to custom colors.
4 or 5 Color Process Colors: If your design is not easily reduced to 4 or 5 spot colors, we can set up for process printing using our process cyan, magenta, yellow, black, and sometimes a highlight white. This works well for photographic type images where exact color is not necessary.
4. Special effects, fades, shadows, shading etc.
Special effects can be hard to reproduce with screen printing. We will try to match the effect as close as possible. Some special effects just can't be produced with screen printing. See our Screenprinting link above for more examples on screenprinting techniques and effects.
5. Sending artwork:
Artwork can be sent via email or our FTP site (contact us for FTP access).
6. Support your file with a faxed/printed copy of your artwork and a phone call:
This will be used to ensure that the transmitted file is EXACTLY what you were trying to send.
